OUR STORY

Each piece is handcrafted in our woodturning studio in Antwerp from healthy trees that were either felled by wind or were cut down for safety reasons. These beautiful trees are now getting a second life.

Driven by design and creativity I draw my inspiration from the natural patterns in the wood. They dictate the final form of each unique piece. This  is how I want to show the beauty of our local wood species. 

I strive to produce items that offer you moments of peace and tranquility in a fast and hectic society.

All Nodum products are finished with an all natural and food safe oil made by Odie’s Oil. The oil penetrates the wood and hardens as it dries, giving a durable finish that starts beneath the surface and provides good protection against all moisture. Water beads up and rolls right off.
To take care of your products is simple; there is no aftercare needed! You can dust your items with a dry cloth or you can use a wet towel. You can even rinse your bowls under a running tap. Just be sure to dry the piece completely and let it sit in open air for 15 mins before putting it away.
Never let an item soak in water or any other substance.

Each item is made with passion from local trees in Belgium. Each item is made from one solid piece of wood and has all natural colours. Nodum never uses artificial colours or glues.

Custom work is also possible to enhance your dining experience, simply contact us via our form and start the conversation. We have had the pleasure of working with a few Belgian and Dutch private chefs and also the biggest producer of Belgian caviar (Royal Belgian Caviar).

We only use locally grown trees that were felled by professional tree workers. These trees are primarily cut down for safety reasons and due to sickness or storm damage. Not one healthy tree was cut down for our creations!
