This is a hollow form hand turned from a piece of weeping ash.
What I personally love about this piece:
– asymmetrical shape due to the warping that occurs while the wood dries
– shiny ripples on top and on the side due to decompression of the wood fibres
– a patch of the natural form of the cambium (this is the part of the tree right under the bark)
– a splash of intense dark heartwood
– each side of this piece has a different look
